EV Charger Installation
The popularity of electric vehicles continues to rise. This has led to electric vehicle chargers becoming more popular for EV drivers and EV owners.
Installing a charging station in your home or business is a great way to save money while increasing profits.
What Does an EV Charging Station Installation Entail?
Electric vehicle charging stations are classified into three categories that range from simple and basic to more complex than you would ever consider installing on your own.
The three types of electric car chargers include include "Level 1", "Level 2", and "Level 3".
Level 1 is the simplest to set up and is ideal for charging plug in hybrid EVs. You only need to simply plug it into a standard 120-volt wall outlet to get started. Level 2 are more advanced, with 240-volt circuits capable of charging 50 or more vehicles.
The most advanced are Level 3 chargers, but they are also the most expensive. They operate on a 400-volt circuit and support DC fast charging (DCFC) - such a circuit results in a much faster charging time.
How Much Does It Cost To Install an Electric Cars Charger?
The basic installation will be between $250 and $400 if your home already has a 240-volt electrical circuit. Installation that includes mounting a new station, installing a new electrical panel upgrade and wiring, and equipping it with the necessary volt outlet can cost between $1,000 and $5,000.

- A homeowner may not be able to hold the installer liable if they are not licensed and insured.
- A certified electrician will make sure that the equipment has a certification mark or is certified for use by a nationally recognized certification agency
- You need an expert in electrical work to determine whether your electrical equipment has enough space for a circuit breaker
What Exactly Is an Electric Vehicle Charging Station?
